Top 5 Local Spots to Enjoy a Fun Fire Pit

Melissa Walter

What could go more perfectly with a crisp Autumn evening than spending time cozied up around a roaring fire? In my opinion, not much. Unless I have an apple cider donut close by - consider going back to read my blog that talks about the perfect apple cider donut if you’re curious.

What could go more perfectly with a crisp Autumn evening than spending time cozied up around a roaring fire? In my opinion, not much. Unless I have an apple cider donut close by - consider going back to read my blog that talks about the perfect apple cider donut if you’re curious.

It is for that reason that I have compiled a list of my favorite local restaurants, wineries, and even a brewery where you can make a special trip with friends and family to sit by the fire, sip a cocktail (or mocktail), and enjoy this gorgeous season. Keep reading for my top five locations, and let me know if you have a favorite local spot you think I should consider adding to my list too!

Blue Bell Inn

First on my list is the lovely Blue Bell Inn, which is located in Blue Bell, PA. This historic establishment has been open since 1743, and has continued to be a local staple for any occasion. There is an extensive brunch, lunch and dinner menu, which features tasty specialty cocktails, local craft beer and fresh seafood dishes, Blue Bell Inn is a great place to enjoy a bite to eat with your loved ones. During the Fall months, their beautiful grounds make for the perfect autumnal backdrop with small fire pits to sit around and enjoy your meal. If you’re planning a larger event you can book their patio with fire pits and small tables to spend time with a bigger group, or simply ask for the patio when making your reservation.

Levante Stables

If you are looking for a more relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a fire pit this Fall, then Levante Stables (also known as Levante Brewing Company) would be a perfect option for you. Located right in Chester Springs, Levante Stables has been a local favorite since 2015 when their first taproom was opened. The founding members began their craft beer journey with a simple home brew, then later expanded to a full business for patrons to enjoy. If you are a fan of a tasty IPA, or even a specialty wood-fired pizza, then you are truly in luck. Plan your trip to this fun local spot, which also hosts live music and other events for you to enjoy, and sit around the fire with your friends and family.

Tavola

Located in Delaware County within Springfield, Tavola is anything but a hidden gem for those looking to have a special experience. Originally opened as part of the Springfield Country Club, they have cemented their place as a local favorite. Their massive outdoor space, which is lit by string lights and features cozy outdoor benches with pillows, tables, and even a spacious bar, is centered around various large fire pits. So, whether you choose to bring a large group or simply go on a date night with your significant other, your evening will be spent enjoying one of their brick oven pizzas, specialty pastas, or a tasty cocktail around a crackling fire.

Suraya

Known for being an award-winning specialty market in the busy Fishtown area of Philadelphia, Suraya is a coveted spot for locals and those visiting the city. Their indoor dining room always has a wait and the cuisine is a big reason why. However, it’s their dreamy garden seating that gives them a special spot on my list. The space is truly an oasis in a busy city with greenery to give a secluded feel and a large fit pit to enjoy, so it’s not surprising that they have been so successful. Whether you’re looking to reserve one of their longer tables in the center of the garden or simply sip on one of their tasty cocktails around the fire, you will be sure to have an iconic Philadelphia fall evening at Suraya.

Bishop’s Winery

Last but certainly not least is the one of my favorite vineyard estates, Bishop’s Winery, which is conveniently located in Perkasie, PA. If you are planning to add this location to your list, then I would suggest making a full day trip out of the experience. You will want to enjoy their spacious tasting room to find your favorite vino, then either buy a bottle or grab a flight to enjoy by one of their cozy fire pits on the rustic patio. No evening would be compete with some wonderful live music, which will be the real cherry on top of this perfect experience.
